Why Brussels is my favourite city for street photography.

Not because it’s beautiful in the conventional sense. But because it’s gritty and chaotic, in a good way.
Every neighbourhood, every street feels different.
The architecture is a glorious mess. Art Nouveau next to Brutalism. Historic façades beside glass office towers. Chaotic? Sometimes. Photogenic? Always.
Street art is everywhere. Murals, stickers, tags, hidden gems. The city itself becomes a canvas.
People are surprisingly open. Ask for a portrait and chances are you'll get a smile and a “yes.”
And when your feet need a break, there’s always a great coffee bar, a local café, or a gallery waiting around the corner. For great photography check out Box Galerie, Fondation A Stichting and IsSI.

Brussels may never win a beauty contest. But for photographers who love contrasts, characters and unexpected moments, it's hard to beat.
