work in progress: street portraits.
Something new for me: street portraits. Completely out of my comfort zone: approaching strangers and asking them if I can take their portrait. The good news is: most people say yes. Usually, it has to be done quickly: the shoot is over within a minute. Sometimes there is a chat afterwards, sometimes not. We exchange contact details and go our separate ways. Afterwards, there are a few emails back and forth. Sometimes people are happy with the photos, sometimes there is no response at all. Street portraits are a challenge in any case. Always exciting. And when it works, I'm left with a fantastic feeling. But there is still a long way to go. I need to improve on every level. Here is a selection from the last five months. Shot in Berlin, Brussels, Köln, London and Paris. Fujifilm XT5 + GFX 50IIs.
